The maritime industry is a key component of today’s world economy. In excess of 90% of global cargo movements are undertaken by sea and a complex interaction of business organisations generates a need for professionals who can make a positive strategic contribution.

This innovative programme of MBA in Maritime Management is offered by B. K. School of Business Management, but capitalizes on the long standing experience of the B. K. School of Business Management in delivering masters programmes at Master of Business Administration levels.

The two years full time MBA-Maritime Management programme has been developed with a view to mould young graduates into able managers and efficient leaders who can take challenges in the highly competitive Maritime business environment.

At the end of second semester, the students undergo a Summer Internship for a period of 6-8 weeks in leading ports and/or allied institutions.

In the third semester, the students are required to choose one among these two specializations offered by the School under MBA-Maritime Management Studies namely,

  2. Logistics and Shipping Management
Port Operations And Management Logistics And Supply Chain Management
Port Planning, Procedure And Development Liner Trade And Multimodal Transport
Port Safety, Security And Vessel Traffic Management System Chartering And Chartering Practices

The students are required to undergo a comprehensive 6 months training in ports or allied institutions as part of the last semester.

Additionally, industrial visits to ports and its allied institutions are arranged during the first three semesters to get the students acquainted with the maritime industry.

The programme is supplemented by guest lecturers from the maritime industry. The students get practical insights about how the theoretical concepts are practiced in the organizations. The corporate experts interact with the students and share their experience.
